A Chicago man was arrested after his 2-year-old son was found nearly decapitated in the trash, police said
Rolando Ortiz, 37, is expected to be charged with first-degree murder in the grisly slaying of Mateo Garcia Aguayo at a Little Village neighborhood home Wednesday, the Chicago Tribune reported.
Authorities said they arrived at the scene and discovered the tot’s body stuffed in a trash bag on the kitchen floor of an apartment.
The young boy “suffered severe trauma from lacerations” and appeared to have fatal stab wounds, according to police.
His throat was also slashed to the extent that he was nearly decapitated, police sources said, the Chicago Tribune reported.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene and his death was ruled a homicide.
