“I’m going to call her later on. I think it’s a terrible thing,” Trump said.
“I always got along very good with Savannah — very unusual situation, but we’re going to find out.”
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday it was aware of “possible random note(s) circulating” — but did not confirm the legitimacy of those demands for money.
Nancy Guthrie’s pacemaker stopped syncing with her Apple devices around 2 a.m. Sunday, and police said that there was evidence that she didn’t simply wander away from home near Tucson.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nano said the elder Guthrie was “sharp as a tack” and “of sound mind.”
Nanos also said in interviews and public appearances that “I think she was abducted” and that “we know she was harmed at the home, but we don’t know to what extent.”
However, the local authorities have walked back some remarks, including Nanos saying Guthrie was “taken” from her bed, which his team later clarified was not known.
