Tunisian security forces have gunned down five suspected jihadists, as the country still reels from an Islamic extremist terrorist’s attack that left 38 people dead at a resort.

Cops on Friday chased eight gunmen near El Ktar, where they were found with four Kalashnikovs — the same weapon used by beach brute Seifeddine Rezgui — a pistol, two grenades and several cellphones, The Independent reported.

An Interior Ministry spokesman told Agence France-Presse that the five had been under surveillance after an intelligence tip-off.

Mourad Gharsalli, 27, who was believed to be a member of an al Qaeda affiliate, was among the dead, the paper reported, citing Tunisian news site Kapitalis.

The operation came as Britain was urging all of its citizens to leave the North African country because an extremist attack is “highly likely.”

Thirty British tourists were among the victims when Rezgui stormed a beach in Sousse on June 26. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for that attack.

Prime Minister Habib Essid said his government “did everything in our power to protect [British] citizens and their interests, as well as those of all other countries.”
