LONDON — A man has been arrested and charged with tweeting threats against the feminist who led a successful social-media campaign to get a woman’s face on a British bank note.
Caroline Criado-Perez yesterday said she has faced a deluge of Twitter abuse — including threats to rape and kill her — since the Bank of England announced last week that Jane Austen’s picture will grace new 10-pound notes.
