An Arizona family is mourning the loss of twin sisters, 3, who both fells into a backyard swimming pool in Phoenix, Arizona, and drowned on Friday.
Their frantic father tried desperately to revive the little girls — identified as Valentina and Penelope Ruiz, according to Fox 10 Phoenix.
They died at the hospital.

The girls’ frantic father tried to revive his daughters, but both died at the hospital. ABC15 Arizona“Preliminary information suggests that this incident is consistent with an accidental drowning,” Phoenix police told ABC 15 in a statement on Friday.
“At this time, there is nothing that investigators have found that appears suspicious.”
Paramedics took three minutes to get to the home on Lower Buckeye Road and 63rd Avenue after a report came in of a toddler in a pool.
But, when they got there they found two little girls unconscious.
Phoenix Fire Capt. Rob McDade said the twins’ father called 911, but how long his kids were in the pool is unclear.
The kidney-shaped pool in the backyard did not appear to have a fence around it.

It’s not clear how long the girls were in the water before the father pulled them out, authorities said. ABC15 Arizona“We had a father on scene attempting to do CPR on both children. You can imagine what that would look like and how taxing that would be,” McDade said.
Both Valentina and Penelope were taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but could not be saved.
