FORT PIERCE, Fla. — Authorities say two people were killed in a crash with a semitrailer in Florida.

Treasure Coast Newspapers reports that the crash occurred Thursday near Fort Pierce.

Florida Highway Patrol says 44-year-old Gary Walter Gerber failed to make a complete stop at an intersection, and his pickup truck was hit by the semi, causing both vehicles to overturn.

Gerber and his passenger, 49-year-old Tammy Lynn Radford, died at the scene.

The semi driver was hospitalized with minor injuries.
