Two US soldiers have died in Kuwait within nine days of each other, it was revealed Thursday.

On Wednesday, a soldier was found unresponsive at Camp Arifjan, Army Central Command told the Army Times

“We send our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased,” the Army wrote in a statement to the outlet.

It wasn’t immediately clear how the soldier died, where they were found or who they were — Department of Defense policy doesn’t release names of the deceased until 24 hours after the next of kin is notified, the outlet said.

The matter is under investigation, officials told the outlet.

On Jan. 11, Staff Sgt. Anthony Bermudez, 28, of Dallas died during routine work near Camp Buehring, officials said.

Bermudez was in a commercial vehicle but it wasn’t clear what exactly happened. Two other soldiers were injured at the same time but survived.
