Catching an Uber turned deadly for a man in Houston.

James Grant Booker and another man climbed into the back of the ride Friday afternoon when Booker’s pal opened fire on him in the backseat, the Houston Chronicle reported.

The shooter “immediately began opening fire into the backseat where his companion was,” said Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

Booker was struck multiple times, police said.

The shooter took off on foot after the 2 p.m. shooting while the Uber drove to a nearby intersection and called police.

Cops found Booker dead at the scene, according to the paper. Harris County police are searching for the gunman.
