Boris Johnson reportedly would require immigrants in Britain to learn English.

Johnson, who is leading in the race to succeed Theresa May as UK prime minister, told a group of Conservatives on Friday, “I want everybody who comes here and makes their lives here to be and to feel British.

“That is the most important thing. And to learn English,” Johnson said.

He said that in parts of London, “English is not spoken by people as their first language,’’ The New York Times reported.

Also vying for the job is Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt.
