
UN OKs arms pact
The 193-nation UN General Assembly yesterday overwhelmingly approved the first treaty on global-arms trade that seeks to regulate the $70 billion international business in conventional arms, ranging from tanks to warships.
There were 155 votes in favor, three against, and 22 abstentions.
