A worldwide travel alert was issued Monday by the US State Department, warning American citizens of “increased terrorist threats” around the globe as the holidays approach.
“Current information suggests that [ISIS] Al-Qaeda, Boko Haram and other terrorist groups continue to plan terrorist attacks in multiple regions,” the State Department cautioned on its website.
“US citizens should exercise vigilance when in public places or using transportation,” the State Department said.
The alert comes in the wake of the deadly Paris terror attacks that killed 130 people and injured more than 350 others.
The travel alert will be in effect until Feb. 24, 2016.
