A US Marshal in Ohio was shot while serving an arrest warrant on Wednesday night, according to reports.

The suspect was the target of the warrant was also shot during the melee at an apartment complex in Canton at about 5 p.m., police told WEWS-TV.

The suspect is a out-of-state fugitive, WJW reported.

The marshal, a man, suffered non-life threatening injuries, the report said. Authorities did not immediately reveal the condition of the suspect.

Both men were taken to area hospitals. The circumstances that lead to the shooting were not immediately clear.
