A US service member has died of wounds received during in a operation in Afghanistan, the US military said on Wednesday.
The incident took place in Eastern Afghanistan during a joint operation with Afghan Forces against Islamic State fighters, the US Forces-Afghanistan headquarters said in a statement.
The service member has not yet been identified and next of kin are being identified.
