WASHINGTON — Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx says the government has opened a price-gouging investigation involving four airlines that allegedly raised airfares in the Northeast after an Amtrak crash in Philadelphia in May disrupted rail service.
Foxx tells reporters the Transportation Department sent letters to the airlines seeking information on Friday.
The four airlines are Delta, American, Southwest and JetBlue.
