A Utah fugitive who led police on a wild chase was later found by authorities hiding in a clothes dryer, a report said.

Damien Mestas, 26, was wanted for a parole violation when he fled from officers in a black Toyota SUV last Friday in the city of Ogden, according to a police affidavit obtained by KUTV.

While fleeing, Mestas is accused of ramming into an occupied patrol car and nearly running over several detectives, the report said.

The suspect made his getaway by speeding through a fence and over two boulders, according to a probable cause statement.

The high-speed chase lasted for about 20 minutes, with Mestas striking several cars along the way, the report said.

Mestas briefly avoided capture, but later that day he was located by police inside a clothing dryer at a nearby home.

The suspect made one more escape attempt, but was caught outside the home.

Police said they recovered a meth pipe in the appliance, and what appeared to be remnants of the drug on top of it.

Mestas was hit with numerous charges, including assault of a police officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.
