NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Police say a van crashed into the Newport News Courthouse after the driver’s prosthetic leg detached.
Newport News police spokeswoman Holly McPherson tells The Daily Press that the woman was trying to parallel park when the accident occurred around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday.
McPherson says the van hit a parked car and then backed into the building. The woman wasn’t injured. A person inside the courthouse suffered a minor injury.
McPherson says the accident didn’t affect court operations.
