The mayor of Las Vegas tweeted her condolences following Sunday’s deadly mass shooting in a church near San Antonio, Texas.
“With our greatest sorrow and compassion. Las Vegas stands with you with our hearts broken and ready to help in anyway we can. #SutherlandSprings” wrote Sin City mayor Carolyn Goodman.
Sunday’s bloodshed — in which a gunman killed at least 27 and injured dozens more inside the First Baptist Church in Sutherland, Texas — comes on the heels of the Oct. 1 Las Vegas massacre, in which Stephen Paddock killed 58 people and injured hundreds more when he opened fire on an outdoor concert from a 32nd-floor hotel room.
That was the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history. The Texas tragedy is the deadliest inside a house of worship.
