Heart-pounding bodycam footage captures the moment good Samaritans jumped into action to pull a badly injured Atlanta cop from his burning patrol car — as his own gun started firing from the heat.

Atlanta Police Officer Malik Safi was on his way to assist a fellow cop at 10:22 p.m. Oct. 20 when he lost control of his squad car and slammed into a house, with the vehicle bursting into flames, according to dramatic video released by the department over the weekend.

That’s when brothers Ryan Beck and Kashun Robinson ran over with a couple of other neighbors to pull Safi to safety — even ducking bullets after the flames began discharging ammo from one of the cop’s guns inside the car, according to police.

“We just went off our heart,” Beck said. “Like, went off our heart like we were raised. We don’t want to see nobody suffering in that type of situation. So we just hopped out and sprung into action.”

Robinson said. “We’re just trying to comfort him and let him know he’s not by himself.

“One of his guns in the car actually started going off. We put him out of the yard and onto the sidewalk, and everybody was just ducked behind the trees and everything.”

One of the Samaritans used the cop’s radio to call for help.

“We have an officer down,” the woman is heard saying. “Officer S-A-F-I. On North Avenue. Yeah, hurry up. he’s been in a wreck. His leg is broken.”

Paramedics and cops rushed to the scene and got Safi to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The mom of Beck and Robinson couldn’t be prouder of her sons.

“I feel extremely proud of them both,” Keziah Reed said. “I feel like they did exactly what they were taught to do, to help and have empathy for other people.”
