A horrifying video shows the moment the 950-ton pedestrian bridge at Florida International University in Miami collapsed and killed at least six people.

The footage, which appears to have been taken by someone looking at a screen that displayed surveillance video, was posted on various social media sites, according to the Miami Herald.

It shows traffic moving normally until the span plunges onto the road below, flattening a number of vehicles and trapping motorists.

People also can be seen standing on the bridge right before its collapse.
