Stunning footage from Hurricane Ian’s assault on Florida showed the storm pummeling homes in Fort Myers Wednesday with raging winds and unrelenting sheets of rain.

An apocalyptic clip posted to Storyful shows floodwaters swallowing houses whole across an entire swath of the stricken town.

Coastal areas of the city of 85,000 were quickly overwhelmed by the historic storm, with some structures submerged completely and others floating away.

One home in the clip appears to have collapsed into a mound of rubble.

Hurricane Ian’s haymaker landed in the area just after 3 p.m. with ferocious winds of up to 125 miles per hour.

Other footage captured during the mayhem showed floodwaters rapidly filling buildings and cars bobbing.

Fort Myers officials set a curfew at 6 p.m. Wednesday that will extend for at least 48 hours.

Shellshocked residents were urged to boil their water Wednesday night after the storm knocked out power at a treatment plant.

Ian brought similar destruction to homes in Naples, ripping roofs off some structures and leveling others.

Another video from Cape Coral shows a backyard roof structure straining under heavy winds before suddenly breaking off and flying into the air.

Gov. Ron DeSantis said Wednesday that the storm will rank as one of the worst to ever hit the Sunshine State — alongside the Labor Day hurricane of 1935, Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and Hurricane Michael in 2018.
