Startling video captures the moment a 2-year-old boy nearly drowns — and is then rescued — in a Michigan hotel pool.

The video, posted to the Livonia Police Department’s Facebook page Wednesday, shows the disturbing scene unfold at a Holiday Inn Express pool on Jan. 24.

A 9-year-old girl points out the unidentified boy lying motionless at the bottom of the pool to her godmother, who screams for others to call 911 — and then dives in to rescue the toddler.

Then nurses, who happened to be at the hotel, jump into action — performing CPR on the boy and reviving him, police said in a statement.

The boy was rushed to a local hospital for treatment, and has since been released.

For their life-saving efforts, both nurses have been given the department’s Exceptional Service Award — its highest civilian honor.

“According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, three children die every day as a result of drowning,” authorities said in the statement. “In fact, drowning kills more children ages one to four than anything else except birth defects. Thankfully, parents can play a key role in protecting the children they love from drowning. The Livonia Police Department would like to remind you to always monitor children in the water.”
