A Virginia-based mosque is accused of paying a sickening tribute to slain Iranian Supreme Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, hailing him as “our leader” and mourning his “martyrdom.”
The Manassas Mosque, in Prince William County, put up the now-deleted Instagram post on Saturday after Khamenei was killed in an Israeli airstrike, The Daily Wire reported.

The Manassas Mosque had recently come under fire after reporters attended a sermon on the day before Khamenei was killed, which featured a framed photo of the Islamist embracing Oct. 7 mastermind Yahya Sinwar and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrullah, both terrorists who were killed by Israeli strikes, Fox News reported.
An iman at the mosque called for Allah to “destroy all the nonbelievers – or kafiroon or munafiquoon,” the outlet reported.
He pleaded for victory over purported sinners “before the arrival of Imam Mahdi,” Islam’s respective messiah.
In Shiite Islam doctrine, Mahdi is said to battle Dajjal, a demon, in the final battle of Armageddon.
Outside their sermons, the house of worship’s leadership also promoted multiple anti-Israel protests on its social media.
Most recently, the mosque boosted a “Stop the War in Iran” protest, set for Monday evening in Washington, DC.
The mosque is sponsoring the demonstration alongside a laundry list of far-left organizations, including the DC branch of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, Code Pink and the Metro DC Democratic Socialists of America.
The Daily Wire reported that the Manassas Mosque is funded by the Alavi Foundation, a New York City-based nonprofit with alleged links to the Iranian regime.

Google mapsThe foundation’s former head, Farshid Jahedi, was indicted in 2009 for “allegedly destroying documents subpoenaed by grand jury” linked to a probe surrounding a “relationship with Bank Melli Iran and the ownership of a Manhattan office building.”
Jahedi pleaded guilty in 2010 and was sentenced to three months in prison plus a $3,000 fine.
That same office building, a skyscraper on Fifth Avenue constructed by the foundation, came under fire after the Department of Justice later determined that it “served as a front for the Iranian government.”
A jury ruled that the US could seize the 36-story building in 2017, though the nonprofit is still headquartered inside.
In 2023, nine Republican congressmen asked the Biden administration’s attorney general and director of national security to investigate the Manassas Mosque, as reported by Fox News.
They claimed that the mosque received $200,000 from the Alavi Foundation and asserted it “appears to be part of a network of regime-sponsored mosques acting as agents for a foreign adversary.”
It’s not clear if the Biden administration looked into the allegations.
