The 20-year-old suspect in the deadly Washington state shopping mall shooting was acting “zombie-like’’ when he was nabbed and now faces five counts of first-degree murder, authorities said Sunday.
Arcan Cetin, 20, is accused of killing four women and one man Friday night at a Macy’s store in Burlington. He was taken into custody Saturday night while walking near his home in Oak Harbor, Wash.
Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Hawley described Cetin as “zombie-like’’ when found.
The victims were shopping when they were shot, one by one, with a rifle, authorities say.
Victim Sarai Lara, 16, a cancer survivor, was with her sister when she decided to go into Macy’s for a pair of pants, her mother told the Seattle Times. Also killed were Belinda Galde, 64, Beatrice Dotson, 95, Shayla Martin, 52, and Chuck Eagan.
