Martin Luther King Jr.’s daughter thinks the Rochester meteorologist who used a racial slur while saying her dad’s name should have gotten a second chance.

Dr. Bernice King told TMZ that instead of getting axed, Jeremy Kappell, of WHEC-TV, should have been demoted or sent to implicit bias training.

“I believe that when these racial slurs occur, unless there’s a situation where it’s continual, that people need an opportunity to be rehabilitated and we don’t focus a lot on rehabilitation in our society today,” King told the outlet Thursday.

Kappell was axed from his gig at the NBC station this week for referring to a park named for the slain civil rights leader as “Martin Luther C–n King Jr. Park” — in what he said was an unintentional “verbal slip.”

“I spoke a little too fast when I was referencing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. — so fast to the point where I jumbled a couple of words,” he said when apologizing late Monday.

Renowned weather forecaster Al Roker also backed Kappell this week.

“I think @JeremyKappell made an unfortunate flub and should be given the chance to apologize on @news10nbc Anyone who has done live tv and screwed up (google any number of ones I’ve done) understands,” Roker tweeted.
