An alligator living in a Los Angeles lake is becoming a folk hero of sorts, with fans hoping he continues to elude capture.
The alligator, believed to be an abandoned pet, has been chased around the 53-acre Machado Lake since he was discovered living there on Aug. 12.
Now experts are taking a wait-and-see approach to wrangling the gator, lovingly named “Carlito” or “Harbor Park Harry.”

A Midway, Utah, resident who drove into her garage found a mountain goat waiting there for her.
While wild goats normally don’t come below 10,000 feet in the summertime, this one decided to enter Carol Probst’s property and leap onto the hood of her parked truck.
Animal control subdued it with a tranquilizer dart a returned it to the wild.

Erotic furniture and toys will be on display this November, as will an exhibit featuring the history of condoms, according to the Straits Times.
Still, the event won’t be all that naughty, considering Singapore outlaws homosexuality and oral sex.

When not the Jordan team chief, Colin Kolles is a dentist with his own Munich, Germany, clinic. His skill came in handy when Portuguese racer Tiago Monteiro suffered from a bad tooth before the Turkish Grand Prix.
“He really astonished me. He was very gentle and diligent and treated the problem without using an anaesthetic and without hurting me,” Monteiro said.

A 14-year-old German boy who built a roller coaster in his back yard has been ordered to take it down.
The boy erected a 16-foot-high, 300-foot-long coaster in Offenburg.
Local officials say the creation is too large and doesn’t adhere to safety standards – and must be dismantled by mid-September because the teen didn’t ask permission first.
