WEIRD BUT TRUE
A jealous model sabotaged a rival’s photo shoot by sprinkling itching powder in her bikini.
Olga Schutzen, 20, was caught after she bragged to pals about her attack on 19-year-old Anja Lesismann, who told a Berlin court, “It was agony.”
Schutzen was ordered to pay compensation to Anja for lost earnings and to pay for her to visit a health club for a week.
Loving sisters Dorris Hall, 52, and Sheila Wentworth, 45, both set off in their cars to visit each other – but neither made it. Shortly after both got on the road, they collided head-on in Six Mile, Ala. Both were killed instantly.
When they say, “Fly the friendly skies,” they mean it. Nearly 10 percent of air travelers claim to have joined the “mile-high club” – by making love in a plane. And more than half hope to join in the future, says a survey by the online travel company Opodo.
The survey also found that nearly half of passengers have either been chatted up on flights or tried to put the moves on other travelers. Also, almost 10 percent of male passengers had tried to flirt with stewardesses.
Thieves made off with a baby Jesus from a New Jersey home and are demanding $800 for its return.
The statue was swiped from outside the home of Tom and Candy Konczos in Trenton, where the crooks left a ransom note asking for the sum in “small bills.”
The note was signed by, “Me, him and the other kid who was really scared and didn’t want to take your baby Jesus, and the whole time all he did was say stuff like you’re going to hell.”
Having your cell phone stolen is usually just inconvenient, unless you’re Christian Rado. The professional drag racer, 27, was in an Orlando, Fla., nightclub when he noticed his one-of-a-kind phone – made of platinum, sapphires and rubies, and worth $20,000 – missing from his table.
He’s offering a $3,000 reward with no questions asked. “It’s gorgeous. It had a purple glow to it. It’s the most beautiful thing you ever saw,” said Rado.
