Two homeless men fought to the death – over a stick of deodorant.

Cops say Ron McKean shot dead Joe Carney at the Hotel de Zink shelter in Palo Alto, Calif., after Carney complained that McKean had tossed his deodorant in the trash.

“It’s just tragic that one human took another human’s life because of an argument over deodorant,” said prosecutor Jeff Rosen.

Witnesses said that after the shooting, McKean asked for a cigarette, lit up, unloaded his gun and waited for cops. “I’ll get 20 years for this,” he told one resident.

Cops ticketed an Indiana man for a drunken-driving crash – although he died in the smash-up.

Jose Casas-Ruiz, 23, of Bloomington was legally drunk when he was killed Jan. 20.

Two months later, his name appeared on tickets for driving while intoxicated, not having a valid license, improper lane usage and failure to wear a seat belt.

A dead person can’t be prosecuted, but Bloomington cops require the tickets be written.

Lots of things you can say may be slanderous – but “chicken butt” isn’t one of them.

That’s the word from a California state appeals court which tossed out a slander lawsuit filed by a contestant on the 2000 Fox TV special, “Who Wants to Marry a Multimillionaire.”

Jennifer Seelig sued KLLC-FM in San Francisco after Vincent Crackhorn of the “Sarah and Vinnie” morning show, called her a “local loser” and a “chicken butt.”

The court said Seelig had no cause to sue because she had invited media scrutiny by agreeing to appear on “millionaire” and added that Crackhorn’s comments were merely an expression of opinion.

The mayor of an Indiana city is going to submit to “a swift kick in the ass” – for charity.

Mayor Allan Kauffman said he’ll turn a naysayer’s offhand comment into a benefit for the Goshen Boys & Girls Club.

The critic told a political volunteer for Kauffman that she would happily pay $100 in cash to give the mayor “a swift kick in the ass.”

When Kauffman heard about it, he offered himself for the challenge – and will also allow others who don’t like him to do the same.
