The tiny Rhode Island town of Foster got its first crosswalk two weeks ago – but it leads to nowhere.
The crosswalk stretches from a large hedge on one side of a busy country road to a small stone property wall on the other.
It was painted by state-hired striping contractors who saw two “Pedestrian Crossing” signs that were posted 20 years ago to get drivers to slow down.
A Pennsylvania teen was fined $352 for failing to file a state income tax return on $316 in income, on which $3.16 was withheld for taxes.

Because of a computer glitch, a man who died 29 years ago at the age of 86 was mistakenly sent a grant by the Italian government to buy a home computer.
In the letter to Nicola Valeriani, an unnamed government official wrote “To congratulate you on coming of age . . . You have been selected to receive a grant to help you buy a new PC.”
