He really got her goat – so she killed him.

A woman in rural Eldon, Okla., has been charged with fatally shooting her husband in an argument over who should feed their goats.

According to police, Pearl Smith, 47, pointed a 9 mm pistol at husband Thomas and demanded he take care of the feeding. When he dared her to use the gun and took a step toward her, she fired once and killed him.

Speaking of goats: the folks in tiny Mystic, Iowa (population 600), are hoping the can-chomping critters will help draw large crowds and business to town this July 4.

They’re planning to hold the first annual Mystic Goat Races.

During a goat race the “jockey” runs behind his goat barefoot, holding onto its leash and guiding it with a branch.

Earlier this month, this column carried a report about a British comedian who jumped into an aquarium shark tank in the nude to win a $1 bet – while a film crew shot the caper.

Well, comic Guy Venables is now in hot water. It seems a “sensitive” smooth hound shark died suddenly soon after the caper at the Brighton Sea Life Center and the comic may be prosecuted for “criminal damage.”

“This variety of shark is susceptible to stress. We are very concerned that he died as a result of seeing Mr. Venables jumping into the tank,” said an aquarium official.

Nona Cason of Macon, Ga., was reunited with her two kids – three weeks after being arrested by U.S. officials who mistook her for a fugitive Frenchwoman wanted for snatching her son and daughter from her ex-husband.

Cason produced all sorts of documentation to prove the feds were wrong, but she was not believed – especially after the hapless Frenchman, who hadn’t seen his family in six years, swore in court that she was his wife, and her kids were his.

DNA tests eventually confirmed Cason’s story.

Punching bags have been installed in a subway station in Sao Paulo, Brazil, so commuters can relieve their frustrations.

They’re a big hit – a stroke of genius, according to some commuters.
