A squad of South Carolina’s toughest, burliest deputies are getting dolled up in sexy outfits from Victoria’s Secret and Frederick’s of Hollywood.

But the 13 lawmen from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office aren’t transvestites. They’re merely raising money for charity in the first “Womanless Beauty Pageant Fund-raiser.”

“So many people think of officers as having a macho mentality; this will actually show the community they do have a softer side,” Lance Cpl. Midge Scott told the Carolina Morning News.

A Wisconsin animal shrink charges $1.75 a minute to cure dogs, cats and horses of their hang-ups.

Asia Voight, 38, of Stoughton, had her first consultation with a dog who “told me he ran away from home so much because there was so much yelling in the house.” But an upcoming patient may be her biggest challenge.

“I am going to be talking to a hedgehog,” she said. “That should be interesting. I have never talked to a hedgehog before.”

Motorists gasped in horror as they drove along Interstate 40 in Tennessee and saw a woman’s head sitting on the shoulder of the road.

Or so they thought. Turns out it was a mannequin head – complete with hair – that somebody apparently put there as a joke.

Something smells in Pittsburgh, where a woman sent a package filled with rotten oranges, banana peels and hairballs to the owner of a neighboring apartment building.

Robin Troy was convicted of disorderly conduct for mailing the stinking mess to Connie and Brian Striegel, after she complained about one of their tenants putting the trash out days before it was due to be picked up, allowing stray animals to get to it.

Surgeons in eastern Turkey have removed a four-pound bundle of hair from the stomach of a 17-year-old girl.

“[It’s] the result of the hair that she has eaten in her childhood. She has lived with it for the last 15 years,” said Dr. Enver Sultanoglu. He said the consumption of hair by young people is the result of psychological problems.
