Ex-con James Paul Egan made sure nobody could identify him when he knocked over a 7-Eleven while wearing a blue bandanna over his face, a knit hat and gloves, cops said.

But, unfortunately for the California crook, he left his Bakersfield County Jail photo ID behind as he peeled off his disguise, police said.

Deputies recognized the 21-year-old con, looked up his address and found him hiding in the attic of his home.

Helium balloons set off at an Oregon football game finally came down 22 hours later – and 900 miles away, in Nebraska.

Dean Wittstruck found the balloons, marked, “Go Ducks!” and “Go Team!” in a field by his home in Martell.

The balloons were apparently carried by a jet stream six miles above the ground.

Jefferson the cat is just plane lucky.

The 5-year-old tabby escaped from his carrier as he was being loaded on a plane in Seattle in October, breaking the hearts of his Rhode Island owners, Will and Kelly O’Connor and their kids, who figured he was a goner.

But, proving that kitties really do have nine lives, Jefferson has been found in the basement of a private house near the airport, shaken but healthy.

Parishioners at a St. Louis church were praying – that a car wouldn’t hit them.

They were in the middle of a service at the Life Christian Center over the weekend when a disturbed man burst in, claiming he was Jesus.

Then he ran back outside, jumped in his automobile and smashed it through the front doors. Luckily, nobody was hurt.

Want to win a stuffed animal . . . or a kid? Your choice!

That could have been the slogan on a stuffed-animal game machine at a Piggly Wiggly supermarket in Wisconsin, where a dad who’d lost his 7-year-old son found the boy behind the glass, lying among the animals.

Cops in Sheboygan said the youngster crawled through the 8-inch-by- 10-inch opening of the machine, at which players use a crane-like device to win a stuffed animal.
