A West Virginia firefighter torched his mom’s mobile home – because he was upset over how messy it was, cops say.

William Feimster, 25, of Martinsburg, complained that the home “was very sloppy and he didn’t like it,” said Berkeley County Sheriff’s Sgt. Russell Shackelford.

In another odd twist, Feimster went with his ladder company to put the blaze out after neighbors called it in.

A robbery suspect’s bad spelling led to his arrest.

Cops in Gainesville, Fla., nailed Robert Whitney, 39, after they investigated notes passed to tellers in three different banks. Each note consistently confused the words “dye” and “die.” The notes read, “If a die pack blows, so do you.”

“If anything says education is important to your future, this case says that,” said Sgt. Keith Kameg.

The family of a man who died went to a funeral home to make arrangements and found one mourner already in attendance – his faithful dog.

Polo, a 3-year-old German shepherd, chow and Labrador mix, bolted from home after his master, Ed Crossan, passed away.

Nobody could find the grieving pooch – until he appeared at the Wade Funeral Home in Bristol, Pa.

“It was just a dog looking for his pal,” said veterinarian Eric Meihofer. “It’s an amazing story. It shows that the dog was very loyal and loving.”

A 90-year-old man turned Rambo when an armed intruder threatened his wife – grabbing a carving knife and angrily chasing after the attacker.

“Once I got the knife, I said, ‘Now, you bastard, you’re in for it,’ ” said David Saulbrey of Lower Hutt, New Zealand.

“With that, he threw his knife at me and took off. I was that bloody wild, I would have stuck the knife in his Adam’s apple.”

Detective Scott Cooper described Saulbrey as “a tough old bugger. You wouldn’t think he was 90, that’s for sure.”

When the Evans family bought a baby goldfish in 1960, they didn’t expect much. But 44 years later, Goldie is still alive and splashing.

“He has lost a lot of color and is silver more than gold – but he is still swimming quite well,” said 70-year-old Pauline Evans of Devon, England, who was just 26 when the fish joined the family.
