WEIRD BUT TRUE
Here’s a good way to get out the message that people should stop littering the beach. Get volunteers to clean it up – in the nude.
That what environmentalists did, collecting 600 pounds of trash at the Bonny Doon Beach in Santa Cruz, Calif. But with the mercury at cool 60 degrees, not everyone was happy.
“Too cold – you don’t want the wind going where the wind shouldn’t go,” said volunteer Bill Todd, 64.
A bad milkshake at a McDonald’s in Florida led three men to bomb the eatery, police say.
Pedro Garza and brothers Joshua and Nathaniel Hackey allegedly set off an improvised bomb made of toilet-bowl cleaner, aluminum foil and plastic in the North Lakeland fast-food joint to get revenge for what they said was a gastronomic disaster.
Nobody was injured – but the suspects won’t get a replacement shake.

A 7-year-old Guatemalan girl survived 16 days alone in the jungle – after her drunken father forgot about her while on safari. Rescuers found the girl – bruised, scratched and suffering from malnutrition – in the deep woods 75 miles west of the Guatemala City.
She survived by drinking from pools of water.
A pet Pekinese turned into a pit bull when his disabled master was attacked by bear.
“I ran as fast as I could, but I stumbled and broke my right leg,” said Petre Preda, a shepherd in the Vrancea region of Romania. “I thought only God could help me, and started my last prayer.
“Then I heard my little Pekinese. I’d completely forgot about it. The little one attacked the bear, distracting it from me.”

Warden, 43, of Norfolk, England, could hear 15-week-old Frankie crying, but he didn’t realize it was underneath a pile of dirty towels until five minutes after he turned on the washer.
“Frankie was quite stiff,” he said, “but I thought I’d try mouth-to-mouth respiration. The vet said it probably saved his life.”
