The investigation into the kidnapping of a California mom remains “a top priority,” according to the county’s top cop, who explained this week why detailed sketches of the woman’s abductors have yet to be released.
There’s just not enough information to release detailed sketches of the two female kidnappers because Sherri Papini’s head was covered most of the time during her three-week ordeal, Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko told KRCR Channel 7 News.

And when Papini didn’t have a hood on, her assailants hid their faces from her, he added.
Police said both suspects were Hispanic. One was younger and had curly hair, thin eyebrows and pierced ears. The older woman had thick eyebrows with straight, salt-and-pepper hair.
Bosenko also told the news station that he’s still awaiting the results of forensic tests from evidence being processed by the California Justice Department.
On Nov. 2, Papini, 34, allegedly was kidnapped at gunpoint while out for a run in rural Mountain Gate, Calif., where she lives with her husband, Keith, and their two young children.
Her kidnappers allegedly beat her, branded her, chopped off her long, blond locks and starved her nearly to death.
They then allegedly kicked her out of a moving black SUV onto the side of a highway in Yolo County, some 150 miles from her home.
After a motorist called 911, she was rescued by authorities.
Keith Papini has fully cooperated with the investigation and has passed a polygraph test, but has not been ruled out as a suspect, police said.
