Wild footage captured one man’s fiery approach to battling winter weather woes — using a flamethrower to defrost some icy streets in Georgia.

Jesse Gentes of Newton County says he typically favors his flamethrower to de-ice sections of local streets over the traditional methods of salt and gravel, WSBTV reported.

“Yes, it’s very good. I usually use it for brush removal,” Gentes told the outlet as he unleashed the flames Tuesday.

Gentes said he decided to take matters into his own hands when cars began to slip on an icy hill in his neighborhood, causing drivers to lose control of their vehicles.

“We’ve been watching them get stuck all morning. One vehicle crashed, but it did not hit another vehicle. It ping-ponged down the street, hit the curb and bounced back off,” neighbor Brooke Woodall told the outlet.

Many cars slid off other local ice-covered roads, too, thanks to a winter storm that created snowy, below-freezing conditions, the outlet reported.

Police said there were dozens of accidents, but no serious injuries, from the weather, according to the outlet.
