To err is human.

A woman confronted GOP Sen. Ted Cruz at a campaign stop in Austin, Texas, Tuesday night and asked him to take a DNA test to prove he’s human.

Tammy Talpas, approached Cruz at the event and identified herself as a woman over 50 with seven pre-existing conditions who purchased her individual insurance policy on one of the health exchanges.

She asked him about her continued access to health care.

“If you force me into a high-risk pool, you will either bankrupt me or kill me,” Talpas said. “I take these threats of medical aggression personally and seriously, and I can assure you I’m not the only Texan who does. My question is: Will you pledge to submit to a DNA test to prove that you’re human?”

Cruz shrugged off the question.

“Well, ma’am, thank you for that, and one of the great things about our democratic system is we can treat each other with respect and civility,” he said.

“Is that a yes or a no?” she persisted.

“Ma’am, if you want to engage in insults, that’s your prerogative, but I’m not going to reciprocate,” he said before walking off.

Cruz was among Republican lawmakers who forced a government shutdown in 2013 as they tried to repeal ObamaCare and was still working to end the health care plan earlier this year.
