An Indiana woman who killed three young siblings when she plowed her pickup truck into a group of children as they walked toward a school bus was convicted Friday of reckless homicide and criminal recklessness.

Alyssa Shepherd, 24, killed 6-year-old twin brothers Xzavier and Mason Ingle and their 9-year-old sister Alivia Stahl in the 2018 crash, authorities said.

A fourth kid, 11-year-old Maverik Lowe, was critically injured in the crash in Fulton County.

When she was arrested, Shepherd told police she didn’t realize she was driving toward a stopped school bus — despite the vehicle’s activated stop sign and flashing lights.

She said she was hysterical when she realized she had hit and killed children with her car.

“The only way I can describe it is an out-of-body experience,” she said. “I was a mess.”

If convicted, she faces more than 21 years in prison. She’s set to be sentenced on Dec. 18.
