A man posed as a Lyft driver before sexually assaulting a woman over the weekend in Ohio, police said.
The suspect, described as a tall and thin white man about 30-40 years old, had picked the woman up just moments before driving her to an area near Red Bank Road and Interstate 71 in Cincinnati and sexually assaulting her between 2 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, Lt. Steve Saunders told The Post.
“We just know that he portrayed himself as a Lyft driver and unfortunately, the victim got into the vehicle with him and was sexually assaulted by him,” Saunders said.
The suspect — also described as having dark hair and a thin mustache — was driving a newer model, dark-colored four-door sedan with gray leather interior, police said.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Cincinnati police at (512) 352-6474.
In a statement to The Post, a Lyft spokesperson said the company was cooperating with police in the ongoing investigation.
“The safety of the Lyft community is our top priority and we take any incident of this nature extremely seriously,” the spokesperson said. “We are in contact with law enforcement and are working to assist their investigation in any way that we can.”
