A cold-hearted New York woman was cited for trying to sell an Arctic fox on Craigslist.

NYS DECNYS DEC

Officials say they received a call about an ad for an 8-week-old snow fox for sale in Kenmore in suburban Buffalo for $600, local station WGRZ reported.

Department of Environmental Conservation Officer Mark Mazurkiewicz and an unnamed wildlife rehabilitation worker met with the woman and seized the pup, slapping the seller with a ticket.

She could face up to a $250 fine, as it is illegal to “possess, barter to offer for sale a wild animal as a pet in NYS,” according to the DEC.

The woman told investigators she bought the fox in Michigan, and US Fish and Wildlife Services is looking into that sale.
