WASHINGTON — The Senate’s bipartisan Gang of Eight is in backroom negotiations for Republican support of its immigration-reform bill, The Post has learned.

“We’re trying to get as many as possible while maintaining our principles,” said Charles Schumer (D-NY) of the effort to put most of the nation’s 11 million illegal aliens on a path to citizenship.
