A 3-year-old boy was reportedly thrown into a crocodile enclosure at a popular zoo, leaving him in critical condition.
A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after the horrifying incident at Johnsons of Old Hurst zoo in Cambridgeshire, England, Thursday.
The suspect, from Norfolk, is not believed to have known the boy, Cambridgeshire police said.

The man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. SWNSThe tot was rushed to a hospital in critical but stable condition.
“At this stage we are speaking to people who were at the zoo at the time of this distressing incident to understand more about the circumstances,” Detective Inspector Verity McCann said told the Sun.
“We do not believe the man arrested and the child are known to each other,” McCann said.
The circumstances of the incident were not immediately clear, police said. The suspect’s name has not been released.
“This is now a live criminal investigation and I would ask people to refrain from speculation online,” said Ben Obese-Jecty, a Member of Parliament whose district includes Old Hurst.
“The police will provide an update with further information in due course. My thoughts are with the young victim and his family during a hugely traumatic and difficult time,” said Obese-Jecty.
The zoo, which opened its reptile section in 2019, offers a “crocodile feeding experience” for roughly $100.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the boy and his family following the incident that occurred today,” the Johnsons of Old Hurst zoo said in a statement on Instagram, adding that the Tropical House facility will remain closed until further notice out of respect to the family.
