Former British Ambassador to the US Lord Peter Mandelson, who was fired over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, police in London said Monday.
The ex-diplomat, 72, was seen being led out of his London home by cops Monday afternoon after he was accused of leaking sensitive British government intelligence to the pedophile financier.
Mandelson, who infamously appeared in the Epstein files in just his underwear and a T-shirt, looked stony-faced as he was put in the back of an unmarked car.

Mandelson, the UK business secretary at the time, allegedly tipped off Epstein about potentially market-sensitive decisions, according to several email exchanges released by the US Department of Justice.
The case is similar to the one that led to the arrest of King Charles III’s brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the ex-Prince Andrew.
Andrew is accused of sending sensitive information to Epstein while he was working as a trade envoy.
Officers searched the former Labour politician’s home in the leafy north London district of Camden, as well as in Wiltshire, southwest England, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Department of Justice“I can confirm that officers from the Met’s Central Specialist Crime team are in the process of carrying out search warrants at two addresses, one in the Wiltshire area, and another in the Camden area,” Deputy Assistant Commissioner Haley Stewart told the Sun.
“The searches are related to an ongoing investigation into misconduct in public office offences, involving a 72-year-old man,” they added.

Starmer has claimed Mandelson “lied” to him about the “depth and darkness” of his relationship with the Wall Street sex offender.
Critics say Starmer never should have appointed the powerful former government minister — who served under two previous Labor prime ministers — given his ties to Epstein.
His arrest comes just days after the former Prince Andrew was detained on suspicion of misconduct in public office on his 66th birthday.
