Harrowing video shows an Australian couple heroically trying to take down one of the Bondi Beach terrorists — before both were shot and left to die in each other’s arms just weeks before the 35th wedding anniversary.
Boris Gurman, 69, and his 61-year-old wife, Sofia, tried to thwart one of the gunmen after they spotted the rifle-toting terrorist emerging from a car draped with a homemade ISIS flag before the deadly rampage began on Sunday, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
The dramatic dashcam footage shows Boris courageously tackling the terrorist, Sajid Akram, on the street and wrestling away the gun as Sofia runs to help.

The couple, who lived in Bondi and had been married 34 years, were ultimately executed at close range.

Their family said they were “aware of footage showing Boris, with Sofia by his side, courageously attempting to disarm an attacker in an effort to protect others.”

“While nothing can lessen the pain of losing Boris and Sofia, we feel an overwhelming sense of pride in their bravery and selflessness,” the family said in a statement.
“This encapsulates who Boris and Sofia were — people who instinctively and selflessly tried to help others.”
The heroic couple was identified as Boris and Sofia Gurman. GofundmeThe couple were the first of the 15 victims gunned down by Akram and his son, Naveed, in what is Australia’s worst mass shooting in nearly 30 years.
After their courageous attempts to thwart the attack, two others were also recorded trying to take down the gunmen as the heinous rampage was unfolding.

Another man, identified as Reuven Morrison, 62, managed to hurl a brick at one of the terrorists before he too was shot dead.
