Kassab was killed as he rode a motorcycle through the coastal city of Tyre, The Times of Israel reported.

Hezbollah did not provide information about Kassab’s position or rank.

The IDF said Kassab’s death marks the 412th killing of a Hezbollah operative since Oct. 7.

Hezbollah, meanwhile, launched 55 rockets at northern Israel on Saturday in response to a deadly Israeli airstrike overnight that left 10 people dead near the city of Nabatieth in south Lebanon.

The IDF said some of the Hezbollah rockets fell in open areas while others ignited multiple fires.

No injuries were reported.

The rockets were launched in retaliation of an Israeli strike that annihilated a Hezbollah weapons depot and as well as other buildings used by the terror group.

The Israeli attack killed 10 Syrian nationals while injuring five others.

It is considered the deadliest attack on Hezbollah since Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel.

A separate Hezbollah drone attack on Saturday wounded two IDF soldiers near the northern community of Misgav Am.

Mediators, meanwhile, continue to pursue a ceasefire deal, with word that negotiations on Friday were the most constructive in months, according to a Biden administration official.

President Joe Biden stated the proposal, saying it “offers the basis for coming to a final agreement on a ceasefire and hostage release deal.”

But Hamas officials have said there’s been no progress in these ongoing negotiations, which resume next week.
