Israel launched a series of airstrikes in Yemen’s port city of Hodeidah on Monday following the Houthi terrorists’ ballistic missile attack at the Jewish state’s busiest airport.
About 20 Israeli Air Force fighter jets were deployed to the coast of Yemen, dropping 50 munitions on Hodeidah and a concrete factory in the nearby city of Bajil, the IDF confirmed.
The Israeli military said the port city was a target because it was used by the Houthis for “the transfer of Iranian weapons, equipment for military needs, and other terror purposes.”
The military added that the concrete factory served “as an important economic resource for the Houthi terror regime and is used for building tunnels and military infrastructure.”
Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis claimed responsibility for the missile strike near Ben Gurion airport in Israel. News 12The Israeli air force carried out the strikes in coordination with the US, but American forces were not actively involved, Axios journalist Barak Ravid reported.
Multiple strikes were reported in Hodeidah, the fourth largest city in Yemen controlled by the Houthis, according to outlets affiliated with the Iran-backed terror group.
The airstrikes come after Sunday’s attack at the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, which injured six people and forced foreign airlines to suspend all flights to Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to retaliate against the Houthis, vowing to unleash multiple attacks on the rebel group.

The attack is the first Israeli bombing in Yemen in nearly four months — following a joint strike with US and British forces in January.
The US had launched its own large-scale attacks against the Houthis in March in response to the group’s continued attack on American ships and commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
