The Israel Defense Forces overnight wiped out the command center of Iran’s Quds Force — the elite military unit that served as the “main conduit” for proxy terror attacks by Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis, IDF spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin said Monday.
“The Quds Force has been the main conduit for many of the terrorist attacks and assaults against Israel in recent decades,” he said. “Now, the command centers where these attacks were planned have been completely destroyed.”
In total, Israel targeted more than 20 Iranian military and Quds command centers — killing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard’s head of intelligence, his deputy and the deputy head of the Quds Force’s intelligence organization.

It is responsible for operating Iran’s proxies around Israel’s borders and for distributing weapons and missiles intended for attack the state of Israel,” Defrin said.
Hamas is the terror organization in Gaza that conducted the brutal Oct. 7, 2023, attacks on Israeli civilians that prompted Israel’s war. The group continues to hold kidnapped Israelis and the bodies of many dead hostages.
The Quds Force — previously led for more than 20 years by Iranian Gen. Quassem Soleimani before President Trump ordered him killed during his first term in office — serves as Iran’s country’s foreign operations.
Named after the Arabic word for Jerusalem, the group reports directly to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei — who has long sought the destruction of Israel and the United States as his top goals, retired Major General of the Israel Defense Forces and former head of the Israeli National Security Council Giora Eiland told The Post on Monday.

The unit has been critical to ensuring the success of Iran’s proxy groups that make up what Tehran calls the “axis of resistance,” a coalition of militant groups and political uprisings that aim to crush the US and Israel.
Among its efforts, the Quds Force has trained, armed and funded terror groups such as Shiite militias in Iraq in addition to Gaza’s Hamas, Lebanon’s Hezbollah and the Houthis in Yemen.
Israel has largely defeated Iran’s proxies — particularly Hezbollah and Hamas — since its more than 1.5-year-old war began.
The Quds Force also helped keep in place Syria’s former Assad regime, which fell in December.
US intelligence agencies also suspect the unit of supporting anti-US operations and criminal acts such as arms smuggling and espionage in Venezuela and other Latin American countries, as well as in Europe.
