The son and heir of the billionaire founder of Mango, Isak Andic, is being probed as a suspect in the fashion tycoon’s death — after he plunged from a cliff last year while the pair were out hiking.

Andic, the owner of the global fashion empire, died after falling more than 320 ft in the Montserrat caves near Barcelona last December in what authorities described at the time as an accident.

But following a 10-month probe, multiple local media outlets reported Thursday that the case has since shifted to a possible homicide investigation – and his son, Jonathan Andic, 44, is now officially being looked at.

Officials zeroed in on Andic’s son – who was appointed vice-president of Mango’s board after his dad’s death — as a potential suspect due to the contradictory statements he gave to cops when the tragedy occurred, the La Vanguardia newspaper reported, citing sources.

Authorities have been searching the scion’s phone for any potential evidence – including photos of the scene that may have been deleted, his phone call logs and the route the pair took that fateful day, the sources said.

When the tragedy first unfolded, Jonathan – who was the sole witness — had told cops he’d been walking just ahead of his father on the narrow Les Feixades trail – a route that is often frequented by families and one authorities described as “not especially dangerous.”

After hearing stones falling, Jonathan said he turned to see his father suddenly falling off the edge of the path.

Sources familiar with the probe also told the El Pais outlet that Jonathan’s version of events may not align with the forensic evidence from the site.

The sources added that investigators had come across a “series of clues” that had led them away from a “mere accident” but wouldn’t elaborate further.

The apparent inconsistencies in his witness statements relate to him telling officers he’d left his car in one place when it was found in another area, and that he hadn’t taken photos of the area when he had.

Investigators are also said to be relying on statements provided by Andic’s 52-year-old girlfriend, Spanish pro golfer Estefanía Knuth, who was among the last to see him alive.

Knuth told authorities that “the relationship between father and son was bad” at the time, according to the sources.

No direct evidence of foul play has been found, and Jonathan has not been arrested. However, the contradictions in his statements, as well as the “complex” relationship with his father, are said to be behind the court’s decision to place him under formal investigation.

In addition to Jonathan and Knuth, cops also interviewed Andic’s chauffeur and a local police officer who responded to the scene.

Still, a spokesperson for the Barcelona court insisted the case, which is still sealed, wasn’t directed at any particular person.

The Andic family also fired off a statement in the wake of the reports, saying they were confident Jonathan played no role in his father’s demise.

“The Andic family has not and will not comment on Isak Andic’s death in all these months,” the statement said.

“However, they wish to show their respect for the ongoing investigations and will continue to cooperate with the relevant authorities, as they have done so far. They are also confident that this process will be concluded as soon as possible and that Jonathan Andic’s innocence will be proved.”

Andic, who founded Mango in 1984, was worth roughly $4.5 billion when he died – making him one of Spain’s wealthiest people.

Paying tribute to him at the time, Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez lauded Andic for turning the Spanish brand into a “global fashion leader.”

The company, which has 2,700 stores in 120 markets around the globe, set a company record of 3.3 billion euros ($3.8 billion) in sales last year.

Jonathan Andic was appointed vice-president of Mango’s board and president of its holding company, MNG, in the wake of his dad’s death.

The late billionaire’s two daughters, Judith and Sarah, were named as vice presidents of MNG.

Meanwhile, a financial dispute also erupted in the wake of Andic’s death after his partner, Knuth, demanded a chunk of his fortune.

Andic’s estate was split equally between his three kids but Knuth, who had been dating the tycoon for six years, argued she was entitled to roughly $80 million.

That dispute is still ongoing.
