Students for Justice in Palestine, a notorious anti-Israel student organization, is calling for “death to all collaborators,” mimicking Hamas’ justification for carrying out a series of grotesque public executions of Palestinians accused of being disloyal to the terror group after President Trump’s peace deal.

The campus activist group posted an image on Oct. 12 mourning the death of Saleh al-Jafarawi, a well-known influencer in Gaza who openly celebrated the Oct. 7 attack.

“Three days after the ceasefire deal announcement, journalist Saleh Al-Jafarawi was martyred by the Zionist-proxy Doghmoush clan,” SJP wrote in a tribute online.

“Saleh’s martyrdom is a testament to the fact that the fight against Zionism in all its manifestations — from the IOF to its collaborators — must continue,” it wrote, using the acronym for “Israeli Occupation Forces.”

“Death to the occupation. Death to Zionism. Death to all collaborators.”

Among those mourning al-Jafarawi’s death was the wife of NYC mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani, Rama Duwaji, who posted four broken-heart emojis on Instagram Sunday with the message “Beloved Jafarawi.”

Mamdani himself has well documented ties to SJP. The Democratic Socialist founded Bowdoin College’s chapter of the group when he was a student at the Maine private school in 2013. 

That same year, the group invited radical professor As’ad AbuKhalil to speak on campus, who called Israel a bigger terror threat than Hamas and claimed the US brought the Sept. 11 attacks on itself.

Hamas has perpetrated around a dozen summary executions in the streets of Gaza in recent weeks, accusing the men — who were blindfolded and forced to their knees before being shot on video — of being “collaborators with Israel,” without providing any evidence.

Mamdani repeatedly refused to say Hamas should lay down its weapons in an interview with Fox News’ Martha MacCallum Monday, even after the historic cease-fire deal between the sides brokered by President Trump last week.

“I don’t really have opinions about the future of Hamas and Israel beyond the question of justice and safety, and the fact that anything has to abide by international law,” he said.

“That applies to Hamas, that applies to the Israeli military, applies to anyone you could ask me about,” he added, while doubling down on his pledge to have Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrested if he ever comes to New York City should Mamdani be elected mayor.

SJP has a long history of justifying and glorifying the Oct. 7 terror attack against Israel, and were a leading force behind last spring’s anti-Israel student encampment protests at colleges and universities nationwide, according to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).

The group has chapters across some 275 campuses in the US and Canada, and has spun-off splinter organizations like Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), for which arrested protest leader Mahmoud Khalil was once a mouthpiece.

CUAD was behind distributing disturbing propaganda written by the “Hamas Media Office” during a violent takeover at Barnard College’s Manhattan campus in March, glorifying the Oct. 7 massacre as “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood” — the name the Iran-backed terror group gave to the terror attack.

Both before and after the terror attack, SJP has been an active campus organizer of Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaigns, which pressure universities to cut ties with groups it claims help bankroll Israel’s war machine.

According to ADL, some SJP chapters praised Iran’s April 13, 2024 missile attack on Israel, as well as attacks by the Houthis, an Iran-backed terror group whose slogan is “God is Great, Death to America, Death to Israel, Curse on the Jews, Victory to Islam.”

The group has been behind at-times violent and destructive campus protests, including at Columbia.

A January report by pro-Israel Canary Mission said “SJP chapters on college campuses across the US serve as student arms of Iran’s terror proxy, Hamas.”

Columbia ultimately suspended its chapter of SJP in November 2023 for repeated violations of university policies. The group sued the school attempting to be reinstated, but the New York State Supreme Court dismissed the lawsuit last November.

As for the “martyr” Jafarawi, he was seen smiling from ear to ear in a video he posted on social media as the Oct. 7 attacks were underway, repeatedly pointing the camera skyward at the white smoke trails left by missiles Hamas lobbed into southern Israel while joyously chanting “allahu akbar,” or “God is the greatest” in Arabic.

Al-Jafarawi, 27, who came to be known as “Mr. FAFO” in Israeli media (an acronym for “F–k Around and Find Out”), became one of the most famous faces from Gaza — sending video reports of restruction and the toll of the fighting. 

He was also accused of parroting Hamas propaganda and for running a phony fund-raising scheme in which he was accused of pocketing millions of dollars collected for Gaza’s war refugees.

He was killed Sunday during intense fighting between Hamas and the Doghmush clan, a Palestinian opposition group, according to news and social media reports.

Pro-Hamas media organizations are claiming that he was “assassinated” by Israel-backed militias — a common Hamas attack on any group that opposes its brutal Islamist rule.
