President Trump suggested Thursday that Russia’s “very bloody war” on Ukraine could be nearing its end after he held talks with both sides.
“Great talks with Russia and Ukraine yesterday,” Trump, 78, said in an early Truth Social post.
“Good possibility of ending that horrible, very bloody war!!”

Trump, who has insisted the war wouldn’t have happened under his watch, said he and Putin expressed a willingness to visit each other.
“We expect that he’ll come here, and I’ll go there, and we’re going to meet also, probably in Saudi Arabia,” he told reporters in the Oval Office on Wednesday.
He later added that he would be calling Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky to inform him of his planned talks in a bid to kickstart the negotiating process.
“[W]e want to stop the millions of deaths taking place in the War with Russia/Ukraine,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
“No more lives should be lost!”
