Wild footage shows an accused burglar escaping a court hearing in South Africa by slipping out of a window and climbing down the three-story courthouse.
Onoshana Thando Sadiki risked his life to escape Jeppe Magistrate’s Court in Johannesburg on Tuesday where he was facing charges of of theft and breaking and entering, the Sun reported.
An onlooker filmed him as he slowly slid down the building and finally jumped to the ground, sprinting off into the nearby neighborhood.
The video quickly went viral in South Africa, with some calling the dramatic escape “Tom Cruise-like.”
Sadiki freedom was short-lived, however, as he was nabbed the next day — telling Newslive South Africa about his escapee bid in a video seemingly while in cuffs in a car.

Sadiki said he made the escape when he was first called by a judge and no one appeared to be paying attention. instagram/joe_wan1“I saw those small windows that I came out of. I see the steps, the long steps… when the judge first called me there was no one there,” he said from the back of a vehicle.
“The other police were busy laughing with the lawyers… after that I just looked at the door,” Sadiki told the outlet.
Sadiki will now be “further charged with escape from lawful custody,” a Gauteng police spokesperson told the Sun.
